Under the Workforce Investment Act and the Governor’s Workforce Development System, ABLE provider agencies are mandated partners in each Local Workforce Investment Board area in which they are funded to provide ABLE services. To support this, ABLE coalitions exist in each WIB area. ABLE providers in each WIB area are responsible for working together to coordinate services among themselves and with WIBs and PA CareerLinks. Each coalition elects between one and three individuals to represent their group and nominates a coalition member for the adult basic education seat on the WIB.

The WERC PDC is accepting applications for agencies to affiliate with the Pennsylvania Workforce Improvement Network (PA WIN) and WorkABLE. These programs help agencies learn how to provide services within Pennsylvania's workforce development system. Deadline is August 29, 2008.
